The calculator stays in your browser

Everything you enter in the calculator is processed locally by JavaScript in your browser. Your device list, wattages, and hours are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. The shareable link feature encodes that data in the URL itself, in your browser, which means anyone you send the link to can read it. Do not share a link if the contents are sensitive.

What we collect

• Analytics. No analytics tag is installed on this build. If one is added later, this page will name the vendor and what it stores.
• Email. There is no newsletter form on this site. If you email us, we keep the address long enough to reply and then delete the thread unless the law requires us to keep it.
• Fonts.Page text is loaded from Google Fonts (Fraunces, Source Sans 3, and IBM Plex Mono). Your browser requests those files from Google's servers, which can see your IP address. The calculator still does not send your device list. If we later self-host the fonts, this paragraph will be removed.
• Affiliate cookies. No affiliate or retailer checkout links are live. If they are added later, this page will say so and the disclosure page will name the programs.

Your choices

You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings or use a tracker blocker. None of those stops the calculator from working. To ask what we hold about an email you sent, write to the address below.
